Am I allowed to drive a boat?

Answer

If you were born after January 1, 1988, The USCG requires that you pass a Boater’s Safety License to rent a boat of 10 HP or higher. If no one from your party is born before Jan. 1st 1988, you must obtain a temporary boating license before showing up. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes online. To obtain the Temporary certificate please click here Otherwise, you can get the Permanent one which is also an online course that takes about 5 to 6 hours. To obtain the Permanent Florida Boater’s license you can click here

Question 2

Is there any additional fees?

Answer

There are no additional fees to your booking. The gas is included and the Florida Sales Tax is charged at check-out. Our reservation software adds a booking fee. If you wish to avoid the booking fees, please call to make your booking and provide a valid credit card. We will charge you $100 for the booking and you can show up with the rest in cash. Please kindly note that our staff doesn't carry change so we recommend you have the right amount in hand.

Question 3

How much should I tip the instructor?

Answer

Tips are at the customers' discretion. We encourage our kind clientele to hand an extra 10% to the boat instructor at the end of the experience to show your satisfaction.

Question 4

Am I allowed to go at sea or to cruise to the Bahamas?

Answer

For bareboat charters in Miami (without captain), going offshore is not allowed. Our insurance does not cover our fleet outside the Biscayne Bay area. Therefore, any trespasser will be charged a $500 fine if the boundaries are not respected. Please kindly note that all our boats are equipped with GPS tracker for security purposes. It is very dangerous to sail on the ocean with a small boat and no experienced. We ask our dear clients to make the right decisions to protect their party and their integrity.
